Through our play-based and child-centred programming, we focus on physical development (fine & gross-motor skills, sensory exploration, etc), cognitive development (language, reasoning, creativity, etc), and social development (emotions, social relationships, etc).

Our classroom is thoughtfully & purposefully designed. It is warm & inviting, calming yet engaging; a space where your child is free to play, explore and learn.

Our beautiful community boasts many play parks; Lion's Park is only a 5-minute walk away for outdoor play.

From sensory bins to imaginative play, our classroom features a wide variety of developmentally appropriate play items aiding in creative & artistic expression. Natural, open-ended materials enhance learning & bring more of the outdoors in.

The health & wellbeing of our littlest community members is our top priority! Our classroom is a clean & safe space, and we are always prepared in the event of an emergency. Mrs. Legault is CPR & First Aid Certified and has an

up-to-date Criminal Record Check on file.

Here at Lumsden Community Preschool, our program is play-based and child-centred, offering open-ended learning experiences and play resources.

Our classroom is a safe and nurturing environment that supports discovery, growth & little imaginations.

As an educator, my role is to facilitate children’s learning by using thoughtfully selected teaching strategies that encourage self-reflection and deep-thinking. Children will learn to communicate, take turns, respect the boundaries of others, and follow classroom & community rules.

Through this approach, children feel empowered as they gain a positive self-image, confidence, and love of learning; and most importantly — have fun!

“Children learn as they play. Most importantly, in play children learn how to learn.”
